Jackdaw 27
October 2nd
Andy emailed again over the weekend he is still having trouble with his computer and keeps losing my address. Anyway he has finished re assembling the engine and it’s partially in Jackdaw with some wiring. Apparently the engine mounts are the wrong way round and the gearbox mounts are different so there is still a lot of work to do but it’s looking positive. He has posted a couple more photos on Photobucket and I will keep putting the best on here. While I was on holiday I smashed my digital camera so I have ordered a new one that takes 8 million pixels I can now get even more detail. I am going up to see Andy on Wednesday or Thursday and the camera should come by then so I hope to have loads of new photos. The brakes are looking good the front is all done and the master cylinder and pipes fitted. Andy reckons the back brakes have already been fitted with new shoes and pistons but there is a problem with the handbrake. As there is not much room inside the van, when you put 2 seats in you can not operate the handbrake between the seats. Andy has suggested an umbrella handbrake fitted to the dash fitted from a P100 so we will have to see.
In my reply to Andy I commented that so far there has been no mention of a fuel tank in Jackdaw I am hoping that its such a trivial job to do Andy has never mentioned it. I bet not!
