July 12th
Well it’s mid, well nearly mid, July. I am having withdrawal symptoms about Jackdaw I am so used to seeing the van in the yard I am actually missing it. The thing is I just don’t know what’s happening and its getting to me. I don’t want to contact Andy and sound like a clucking mother hen because he did say he wouldn’t even look at it till mid July but the suspense is killing me.
I have cleaned up the yard and scrapped the old engine and gearbox got £13.69 but that did include some other bits so I am calling it £12.
At least the trailer came in useful last week, the eldest daughter’s boyfriend Trent had some trouble with an ageing VW camper and his Mercedes Van all in the same day so we spent the day moving vehicles around to various garages. Missed a photo opportunity as I forgot my camera.
I will publish news as it happens. It’s like waiting for a new baby to be born.

Andy has emailed! Looking to make a start on Jackdaw. He needs the Cortina back as he has found a 2ltr 5 speed and needs to swap engines with the 1600 from the Cortina. I am flat out with puppet shows at the moment but we are trying to arrange something for next Tuesday or Friday

August 1st
Just got back from dropping the Cortina off at Andy's. It worked out perfect. We were working in a park in Aycliffe right opposite the garages where the Cortina was being stored so we arrived a bit earlier and loaded the Cortina onto the trailer before we started work. Then when we had finished it was just a case of hook up the trailer and away. When we got to Andy's he wasn’t there, but he soon turned up. Poor bloke has caught the dreaded lurgy, you know the one, you can’t be more the 10 foot from a loo and there isnt one at the yard. I hope he’s better soon. Apparently the 2ltr engine he has is from a Capri.

August 10th
Working up at a park in Anfield plain today so called in to see Andy. Dropped off the radiator and some brake pipes. Paid Andy £200 to get things going for parts etc.
