February 2nd 2008 Saturday
Just about to go and do a show but I just wanted to say that I have completely updated my Llewellyn for Fun site and changed some pages to this site over the past few days. If you find any problems please contact me. I have noticed that some people who have linked to my site simply paste the page that they want to link to. The thing is I keep updating and changing page numbers and names so these links to individual pages will now be wrong. If anyone wishes to link to my sites please feel free but please go to the home page first as this is always in the same position and cut and copy the full http web address of that page only.
January 2008
The start of a new year and about now I normally moan on about how bad last year was but this year I’m not!
I am actually writing this page at the start of February and I have seen the light. I now have a different outlook on life.
I know what you are thinking “send in the guys with the white coats Brian’s got religion” but no Marilyn bought me a little book and it makes sense.
“What you think about and concentrate your time on is exactly what you will get!”
So no more worrying and moaning, you just end up with more things to worry about and moan about.
From now on it’s all positive, happy thoughts. Life is good, enjoy it!
“Smile it makes the sun shine”
We bought a new car just before Christmas. It’s a gas guzzling, 4Ltr, automatic Jeep Cherokee. I have always fancied one and it is a cracker, another bargain from EBay. It is a pure pleasure to drive, such a big lump with leather seats and electric everything. We don’t do a lot of miles so why not do them in comfort plus it will be ideal to pull the caravan. Normally we use the van but we get all sorts of comments when we pull on to campsites.
It feels like we are not getting a break from Mr Punch when you drive a work vehicle all year then take it on holiday.
While at the local DVLA office swapping Marilyn’s private number plates over, I asked about registering Jackdaw. I explained what it was and how I was using a Cortina to get it on the road and the young lady who deals with kit cars etc told me that Jackdaw would probably be classed as a new cab and chassis with the Cortina as a simple donor vehicle so I would probably get an age related plate for 1985.

The high winds over the past week have once again took some of the roof off the temporary garage so I will have to get out and fix that when I feel a bit better. I’ve just finished 11 days non stop work and today I am suffering from a hangover after celebrating the event with a little bit too much beer last night. The daughters partner Trent also wants to borrow the trailer and as I have taken some bits off the front end I will now have to put it back together. I don’t mind because I could do with the trailer out so I can get under Jackdaw. I am thinking of risking putting it back into the chicken shed with big pad locks on. Our Mike has decided that being a mechanic is not for him and packed in the job and the course he was on so my free mechanic is out of the window. For now I just need more paracetamol!

I emailed Peter about getting a letter of authenticity for Jackdaw and he has kindly obliged by sending me a confirmation on his company letter headed paper. Jackdaw is legit now.
